Year 6 Prom 2010
Everyone at the Year 6 Prom had a fantastic time. The children looked really grown up in their Prom Dresses and Suits. Take a look at our Gallery photos. If you ask the children what the liked best...they would say the chocolate fountain!
Science Assemblies
This year we have been lucky enough to have, had two science Assemblies. The children really enjoy watching the experiments and listening to the explanations of what they have seen. Take a look at our Gallery to see some of the photographs.
Fund Raising
We have been fund raising for a new Stage area in the large hall, each Friday a year group will sell a selection of items on the playgroud at break time. So far this term we have sold iced biscuits, ice poles and we have even had a lucky dip stall. The total for our fund raising has now reached £455.63p. Well done Children.
Hunstanton Trip Year 1
Year 1 went to Hunstanton to experience what it would feel like under the sea. We visited the Sea Life Centre in Hunstanton and sat in the tunnel underneath the Sharks. It was a great day, we had a picnic lunch on the grass and an afternoon on the beach collecting interesting shells and making sandcastles.
Lion King Trip
The Drama Club went to see The Lion King at the The Lyceum Theatre in London, they all had a wonderful day as well as seeing the show they got to see some of the sights around London. They also saw some of the new buildings where the 2012 Olympics will be held.
PGL 2010
Our trip to PGL this year was as sucessful as all the others we have had. Years 5 and 6 had a fantastic time, they were able to experience some quite scary activities including the Climbing Wall, Jacobs Ladder and the Giant Swing.
Roman Museum Trip Year 4
Year 4 are learning about The Romans this term so they went to Peterborough Museum, where they had a really good time and learned lots of interesting information about The Romans. As you can see from the pictures in our Gallery the children really did enjoy themselves!
Friday Fun Day
Once a half term we have a Friday Fun Day, where the children can choose an activity to do on the Friday afternoon. There were loads of different activities to choose from, some children did Tie Dye or made Chinese Dragons or did some Cooking. Others played Football or Outside Games. All the children who took part had a wonderful afternoon.
Sing up at the Cathedral
Highlees Primary School was asked to take part in the Sing Up at the Cathedral Concert this month. 40 pupils from Highlees went to the concert. They joined other schools form Peterborough and they all sang together. It was a very enjoyable evening. Well done to all the children who took part.
Music Week
Music Week was lots of fun, this is the first time we dedicated a whole week to music. We had a singer come in to give us lessons, a Digital Recording Artist to record our classes work and an African Drumming Artist who taught us how to play the African Drums. We all had a fabulous week.
World Book Day
We celebrate World Book Day every year, the whole school dresses up as characters from books for the day. This year we let the teachers join in the competition for the best costume. Who do you think should of won?
Hatching Chicks in Reception
In our Reception Classes we were very excited to have some chicks hatch and stay with us for two weeks.
Airport Day
On Tuesday the 2nd of February everybody went on holiday! Each class in school had to remember to take their passport and pick up their tickets to go to another country. Every teacher oganised an activity and spoke about the traditions and customs related to their favourite country. We all had a really interesting day.
Haiti Earthquake Appeal
The Children decided that they would like to raise some money to send to the Haiti Earthquake Appeal. So today on the 29th of January we have had a 'Dress Down Day'. Which means no School Uniform, and we have raised £268.40. Well done everyone. Thank You.
H Factor
On our last day of term before Christmas, we held our H Factor Final. It was a really great way to end the year. All the children who took part were a pleasure to listen to, everyone really enjoyed their performances. We even had a special guest, Nicloe Lawrence who had appeared on the X Factor. Our winner really deserved to win he sang brilliantly. Well done to everyone who took part.
KS1 Christmas Production
Have a look at our Key Stage 1 Christmas production, everyone worked really hard to make this performance happen. It was a lovely production and was worth all the hard work. I would like to say a really big thank you to all the staff.
KS2 Christmas Production
I would like to say well done to all of the children in KS2, the Christmas production was wonderful. I would also like to thank the staff and the children for all their hard work putting the performances together. It was a difficult task doing a scene per class but I think it worked really well. Thank You.

Mr Johnson's Class Play
Year 6 gave their performance for their class play today. It was very good, all the children had worked very hard and the perfomance was wonderful. Take a look at some of the pictures taken.

Children in Need 2009
This year for Children in Need the theme was 'Do Something Different' so we did! We have raised £210.01 so far this year. See our children in the gallery.

PGL which stands for 'Parents Get Lost' is a trip for children in year 5. The children really enjoy going here and trying out lots of activities. Look at our gallery photos to see what the children got up to.
Our New Kitchens
Our new kitchens are in full use now and the children love them. The children really like the salad bar where they help themselves to salad each day.
